Kevin Durant Will Emerge

By Bradley Lace

The Oklahoma City Thunder had a terrible record at 23-59 in 08'-09' - that didn't stop the fans from attending the games because the team finished 11th in attendance.

The novelty might start to wear off if the team isn't going to perform better this season. A team in a new town always had success typically so the Thunder might get a pass on the bad play.

On the other hand, all basketball fans in Seattle have to be upset. The Sonics were a respectable NBA franchise, and their days were ended when ownership decided to relocate the franchise to Oklahoma City, subsequently renaming them the Thunder too. As the state of basketball is in the midst of a financial struggle with the economy, it might be years before Seattle sees another basketball team.

An NBA superstar in the making, the hopes of this franchise rest in the hands of Kevin Durant. He could easily win the scoring title in 09-10, and should probably make the All-Star team too.

In order to win games, the Thunder must rely on Kevin Durant. As he's in his early 20s, there's plenty of upside in his game so one could definitely expect him to improve.

Durant is the Oklahoma City Thunder franchise player as of now - Durant should be among the scoring leaders once again and perhaps the scoring leader at the end of the season.

Then there are Russell Westbrook and Jeff Green, two very talented players in their own respects. They'll be of help for sure.

The story of the 09-10 season for the Oklahoma City Thunder will be the emergence of Kevin Durant as a household name. Many are banking on this, and it'll be fun to watch this superstar reach yet another level in his game.
