Body Building Workouts - How to Get Massive Triceps

Our arms are composed of a number of different types of muscles. Among these muscle types, it is the triceps that are always used with arm movements. As the name implies, triceps are comprised with three main muscles.

Essentially, the bigger and stronger your triceps are, the more weight you'll be able to lift, not to mention the fact that big triceps go hand in hand with big strong arms. This is exactly why so many bodybuilders do exercises such as bench presses and military presses in order to develop their triceps.

Apart from improving the look and strength, developing your triceps is essential with regards to having stronger arms because the muscles take up to approximately 2/3 of the length of your arm. For this reason, it is simply not possible to have powerful arms unless you first developer your triceps.

Basic workouts for developing triceps will include exercises such as push-ups, rope pull-downs, and various dumbbell exercises. It is however important to bear in mind that you need to do a suitable warm-up first. This is because warming up helps to ensure that the body is prepared for more demanding exercises and as a result it helps to reduce the risk of injury.

The most classic triceps exercise of all is without a doubt the simple push-up because it is simple and yet extremely effective with regards to toning the muscle. The intensity of the exercises can be increased simply by incorporating dumbbells.

In order to tone the muscles, you can use a dumbbell instead of a rope pull down machine. In order to do this; you simply hold the dumbbell in both hands behind your head, maintaining your position while gently pulling the dumbbell up and down. When you do this exercise you will feel your triceps flexing.

In the gym, triceps toning exercises begin with rope pull down machines. The machine exercises the triceps by allowing you to do similar exercises as those done with the dumb bell. Remember to maintain proper posture in doing these exercises to ensure correct execution. Exercises are all for quality of movements and not the number of reps.

In order to increase the mass and the stretch of the upper and lower triceps, advanced triceps exercises are performed. To increase mass, one can use heavy weights such as the close-grip dumbbell machine and also weighted dips.

On the other hand, if you wish to develop your upper triceps, then you should be doing cable press downs and also dips. Dips and weighted for dips are also known to be effective for developing the lower triceps. In both instances, it's crucial to maintain the proper posture.

One other thing to bear in mind is that when you're aiming to develop your triceps, you stand to achieve the best results if you train at times when your body is still fresh. This is because the triceps are considered to be difficult muscles to develop. According to the "priority principal" of bodybuilding, won should always make a point of targeting those muscles which are the most difficult to develop.

Diet, nutrition and rest are of equal importance to doing the exercises when it comes to strengthening the triceps. One must maintain proper nourishment to have the energy to go on with the demanding exercises. Exercise and nutrition is like science and fitness working together in achieving ideal results.

One of the most important things to remember, is that proper weight training program will not only revolve around exercise, but it will also focus on diet and a suitable amount of rest in order to achieve the best possible long term results.
